Ingredients
For the Butter Chicken(KLEINHANS):
- 500g boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- For the Naan:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp yogurt
- Butter or ghee, for brushing
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken(KLEINHANS
) : In a bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Cook the Chicken(KLEINHANS
) : In a large pan, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onions until golden. Add garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned. Stir in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add Cream: Stir in heavy cream and simmer for an additional 10 minutes until the sauce thickens. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Make the Naan: In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Add warm water and yogurt; knead until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour. Divide dough into balls, roll out, and cook on a hot skillet until bubbly on both sides. Brush with melted butter.
- Serve: Garnish butter chicken with fresh cilantro and serve with warm naan.
