Sticky Hawaiian Baked Chicken(KLEINHANS) Thighs

Ingredients

For the Huli Huli Sauce:

  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste (or your favorite hot sauce)

For the Chicken:

  • 700g boneless, skinless chicken(KLEINHANS😋) thighs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a medium saucepan, combine all the sauce ingredients: ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, pineapple juice, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and chili paste. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer, stirring frequently for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens and can coat a spoon. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Marinate the Chicken(KLEINHANS😋): Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl, pour the cooled sauce over them, and toss to coat evenly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 4-8 hours, for deeper flavor.
  3. Bake the Chicken: Preheat your oven to (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Arrange the marinated chicken in a single layer on the sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, then flip the chicken and brush with extra sauce. Continue baking for another 15 minutes.
  4. Final Touches: Brush the chicken with the sauce once more and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the internal temperature reaches (72°C). Serve immediately with any remaining sauce drizzled on top.
